Merritt Mulman, President and Owner: After a twenty year career in human services and executive positions in various non-profit organizations Merritt Mulman opened Senior Helpers – Boston North in 2008. He did so after seeing the meaningful impact caregivers played in his own family. Merritt’s professional experience includes time with the United Way, The Jewish Federation of the North Shore, and Duke University. As a community volunteer he has worked extensively to coordinate services and raise money for early childhood education. Merritt graduated from Harvard University and received a Masters degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is the proud father a son at UMass Amherst and a daughter in middle school. Merritt’s wife is a Associate Professor at Salem State College.
Mark H. Friedman, Chief Operating Officer and Owner: Mark leads our sales, marketing and business relationships in the Boston North Healthcare community. He comes to Senior Helpers Boston North from industry where he spent almost two decades leading major business change across numerous Fortune 1000 companies and their equivalent abroad. He has founded two consulting practices and served as a senior executive with a major global sportswear brand. He is active in the Boston North Jewish Community having served as the founding president of Congregation Shirat Hayam of Marblehead/Swampscott. Mark holds a BA from the University of Virginia and Masters degree from Carnegie Mellon University. Mark is married to Carolyn, a professor at Tufts University. They have two daughters.
Jo-Ann Thibault, Client and Community Services Manager: Jo-Anne has been in the healthcare field since 1988. With over 22+ years in the field of home health care, Jo-Ann’s expertise is in operational management, with a primary focus on educating the public on quality home health care practices. Past positions held were; Director of Operations for North Shore P.R.N., Inc.; Executive Director for AllianceCare; and most recently, Director of Business Development for Associated Home Care. Jo-Ann is a lifelong resident of Massachusetts and currently resides in Bradford with husband Michael and their three dogs. She holds a degree in Business Management and is the owner/founder of TheElderInsider.com, an informational website for the health and well-being of our aging population.
Ruth-Ann Rubman, Office Manager and Scheduler: At Senior Helpers, Ruth-Ann applies her almost decade of experience to help us select caregivers and then find the right match between them and the clients we care for. Getting to know the caregivers personally enables Senior Helpers to ensure not only the right skills mix for our clients but also that a genuine bond between caregiver and client will form. Ruth-Ann and her husband, Ron, of 32 years have two daughters and three grandchildren. Ruth-Ann is active in Sacred Heart Parish in Lynn, as a Eucharistic Minister and is the former Director and current Team member of RCIA (a process which brings people fully into the Catholic Church). She is also an Associate of the Sisters of St. Chretienne.
Jean Walsh, Registered Nurse, Care Quality Assurance: Jean applies her experience in hospital setting-Medical/Surgical and Telemetry, outpatient-Pain Management Center, and Private Duty Home Care-across the life span from pediatrics to geriatrics as well as end-of-life care to help define and supervise quality of care for our clients. She is a Reiki practitioner for two years with a strong emphasis on wellness and prevention. Jean serves on the Board of Directors of Lynn Shelter Association as Chairman of Program and Personnel Committee. Jean is married (33 years) to glass artist Jack Walsh. They raised three wonderful sons and have enjoyed restoring their 1854 Salem home. Jean enjoys gardening , cooking and entertaining family and friends.
